The Change Data Type function allows you to convert the data type of any column. This is helpful when you have a column that was incorrectly identified a one data type on import, but you want to transform the data to work with it in a different way. For example, a column of numeric data may have had one text character entered somewhere and consequently Gigasheet identified the entire column as text data. You can easily convert the entire column to numeric data using the Change Data function.
The Change Data Type function can be located in the Data menu (shown below).
When you execute the Change Data Type function, Gigasheet creates a new column with the specified data type, and hides your original column.
Need to undo your conversion? Simply delete the new column and un-hide the original. You can manage column visibility in the right panel. Simply check or un-check any column to toggle it's visibility in your sheet.
