February 2024

This month we released some good stuff! First off, we now have Zapier connectors. It is so easy to connect and automate your data. We also released RevenueBased enrichments, allowing a user to enrich LinkedIn URLs.

Data Management

Getting Data In

The URL for BI & Spreadsheets is now configured to return exactly the same data as sheet when the URL is accessed, rather than the previous behavior of returning the data at the time the share was enabled. The previous functionality remains available by API for automation.
URL for BI & Spreadsheets has increase size restrictions to be 100k rows and 100 columns.
When importing data with the Salesforce Report connector, we now reuse credentials to show a picker of reports once you have logged in.

Using Gigasheet

Functions

Formulas are no longer case sensitive.

Analysis

Clicking Reset Sheet now unhides all columns as well as the other reset actions.
Resetting a sheet will also now reset aggregations.
Sheet History: Items are now ordered in reverse chronological order, with the most recent at the top.

Collaboration

We now provide suggested autocomplete emails when sharing a file after users have typed the first two characters.

Enrichments

You can now enrich your contacts with lots of details from Linkedin using our RevenueBase enrichment against email addresses or individual Linkedin URLs.

APIs/Connectors

We now support a set of actions in the Gigasheet Zapier App. See it at https://zapier.com/apps/gigasheet/integrations

Bug Fixes

Fixed a bug where User Guiding would frequently trigger at incorrect times while users worked with a spreadsheet.

January 2024

This months highlighted features include new menu improvements and comments threads. You can now leave comments on your sheets!

Menus

We’ve added options like ‘New Blank Sheet’ and ‘Sheet Details’.
Username is now collapsed down to a button with a dropdown menu that includes username and a log out button.
There is also a menu option called ‘Help’ that includes quick links to video tutorials, support docs, and a guide to what’s new in the app.

Data Management

Getting Data In

It is now possible to share a live CSV of a Gigasheet for BI tool integrations. Find it under the File menu.
We have improved our parsing infrastructure to reduce the frequency of users seeing their files sitting in “loading” for an extended period of time.

Using Gigasheet

Functions

LEFT and RIGHT formulas now accept a column as input for the number of characters parameter.
We no longer show the trash can icon when you have only one filter in the filter modal. To remove a single filter, use the Reset button on the bottom of the modal.

Analysis

See a list of actions made on a sheet by navigating to the Sheet History option in the spreadsheet’s file menu or via the row menu in the library

Collaboration

Comment mentions now show tagged people in color
Users can now drag and drop files into the workspace.

APIs/Connectors

Added a new API endpoint for filtering by column name
We now support webhook callbacks for loading from URL and exporting to CSV in API calls.
The Salesforce Report connector now saves your credentials so you do not need to log in to Salesforce again when re-running an import.

Bug Fixes

Fixed an issue where messages in Sheet Assistant did not appear until after a page refresh.
Fixed a bug where Explode JSON did not work on columns that contained blanks.
We fixed an issue where the Help menu was not showing in View Only mode.
We have resolved the issue where Pivot Mode produced huge numbers of Error toasts
Fixed an issue where the ‘Move File’ option was displayed on files where the action was permitted.

Functions

Grab a quick link to export presigned URLs in the row menu.
Aggregations are now formatted consistent with the data displayed in the rows.

Filter picker is now always alphabetized

Users can now navigate through our list of enrichments with ease with the use of categories and other sorting improvements.

Fixed some misplaced tooltips
Fixed a bug where you couldn’t run more than 1 formula at a time.

Using Gigasheet

Functions

For formulas, we’ve added a shortcut to the cell editor where typing ‘=’ will now open up the formula builder.

Analysis

If you’ve previously uploaded a similar file, we’ll try to apply the same state on your new file!
Sheet Interpreter is live! The Sheet Assistant is now conversational and will remember context as you work with it.
The Sheet Assistant is now more likely to choose and apply a sort when asked to do data analysis that requires sorted data.

Collaboration

You now can leave comments and tag emails/other Gigasheet accounts on your Team under comments.
Teams users now have access to their Team files in one place. Find it in the Library, with your custom Team name.

APIs/Connectors

We now support Google Analytics 4 data imports and importing Salesforce Reports.
[API] Combine: It is now possible to combine files where rows are appended to the first file instead of creating a new file. This is currently API only and is not an option in the web application.

Bug Fixes

We added user feedback when large files are being copied.

Bug Fixes

We fixed an issue where sorts sometimes got overwritten when entering group-by.
We fixed an issue where uploading a second file while the first one was still being uploaded would cause the first file to get canceled.

Bug Fixes

We fixed a bug where uploads were lost when changing folders.
We also fixed a bug in the “Email format check” enrichment so that it now leaves disposition blank for invalid emails instead of marking them as “Organization”.
We fixed a bug where deleting one row within expanded rows of a group would sometimes delete multiple rows.

August 2023

We also now support 202 polling on the Hunter email enrichment.

We now notify you by email when your file has finished parsing.

Teams:

Users on our Teams plan can now choose Read or Edit permissions when sharing a sheet to their entire team.

Bug Fixes

Fixed an issue where bulk hiding columns sometimes caused the page to crash.
Fixed the Save a Copy behavior when viewing a sheet so that any filters and groups are also applied to your new copy.
Fixed an issue where the loader bar sometimes stopped showing even when the operation was still in progress.
Fixed an issue where some users were seeing an outdated paywall that prevented uploads.

July 2023

Gigasheet is introducing a Sheet Assistant, which offers enhanced data analysis capabilities through recommended questions and answers for new uploads.

If any problems are detected during file parsing but the process is still completed, we now display informational warning messages in the library.

File Management

When combining files, you will now receive a detailed description of any problems encountered due to file mismatches.

Analysis

Sheet assistant with now apply filter groups using aggregate values on the groups themselves.
Sheet Assistant can now utilize formulas.
Sheet Assistant recommends questions to ask for new uploads.

Data Cleanup

Add blank rows by right clicking on the sheet.

Functions

We've added three new formulas - ROUND, TEXT, and EXACT.

Enrichments

Improved the speed at which enrichments are processed.
Added two new enrichment templates to our platform: Placekey and Hunter email verification enrichments.

Bug Fixes

We've addressed an issue that some users encountered with the Sort panel. Previously, adjusting sorts sometimes caused the sheet to enter a bad state, requiring a reset.
We have successfully resolved a bug where filters were not being applied correctly on Vlookup results.
An issue related to "in range" filters during exports has been resolved.
Removed an incorrect trigger for an upgrade prompt during a "Save as" operation with a small subset of a large sheet.
We have fixed an issue with the SQLite parser, ensuring smooth data parsing functionality.
