Modified on Thu, 25 Apr 2024 at 02:56 PM

Introduction

Domo specializes in business intelligence tools and data visualization, enabling organizations to manage, analyze, and visualize business data in real-time. Here are the methods you can use to import live data from Gigasheet to Domo from Gigasheet’s URL for BI & Spreadsheets:

How to get there

Step 1: Go to Data Center > Connectors in Domo.

Step 2: Search for and select the CSV Advanced Connector. Set up an account to configure the CSV Advanced Connector module to allow for live CSV URL datasets.

CSV Advanced Connector:

Step 3: Click Data > Connectors > CSV Advanced Data -> {Your Account}

Step 4: In “Enter the URL to your CSV File”, add the link from the Gigasheet URL for BI & Spreadsheet dialog.

Under HTTP Headers, enter Authorization = '' (two single quotes)

Step 5: Choose the default settings in the Advanced options, and set your schedule for import.

Click Save. The data will be imported.

Things to Consider

  • File Size: Domo has a limitation of 100 MB per sheet. Large or complex CSV files might take longer to import due to processing limitations.
  • File Location: The URL you provide must match the link provided by Gigasheet’s URL for BI & Spreadsheets dialog. Other URLs won’t work.
  • Data Refresh: Gigasheet automatically refreshes the data for continuous updates. By default Domo updates every hour. To refresh Domo manually, head to the CSV Advanced Connector you used for the import and click the Run Now button to re-run the import. You may also be able to schedule data refreshes in Domo in Data Center > Schedules. Please refer to Domo support documentation for further details.
  • Note that Domo is a separate product with its own support, pricing, and features. The CSV Advanced Connector module is a Domo product.

Additional Tips:

  • You can test the Gigasheet URL in a private browser window to verify its accessibility.
  • If encountering issues, consider downloading the CSV locally and importing it from your computer to Looker and/or Google Sheets to test compatibility.
